Pakistan is one of the world's strongest bases for modest fashion manufacturing — skilled embroidery, competitive fabric sourcing, and deep experience with abayas, kaftans and modest formals. But not every factory is right for your brand. Here's how to choose well.
A factory that makes jeans, uniforms and abayas all in one line rarely understands modest-wear drape, modesty coverage or cultural construction. The single biggest cause of ruined collections is a generalist manufacturer guessing at details they don't understand. Look for a partner who works only in modest fashion.
A serious manufacturer produces from a tech pack — a technical spec sheet with measurements, construction notes, fabric details and embellishment placement. If a factory is happy to "just copy a photo," expect inconsistency. The best partners either build your tech pack for you or work cleanly from one you provide.
New brands get stuck when factories demand huge minimums. Ask early. A good partner is flexible — supporting small first-collection runs as well as larger scaling orders — so you're not forced to over-commit cash on your first drop.
Never approve a full production run without a physical sample first. A proper sampling stage lets you check fit, drape, fabric and finish — and fix problems before they're multiplied across hundreds of pieces. If a manufacturer skips sampling, walk away.
Ask how garments are checked before dispatch, and whether they ship worldwide directly to you or your customers. End-to-end partners that handle design, sourcing, sampling, production, QC and delivery save you from juggling multiple vendors.
